WikiCharities is launching a new series for nonprofits in our LEARNING CENTER on our Resource Page.  The LEARNING CENTER is here to help nonprofits build an effective organization.  Thanks to our amazing student interns (Teison Edwards and Derek N. , we started with comparing mission statements and vision statements in the effort to help nonprofits be as transparent as possible.  "Many nonprofits don't have a mission or vision statement that matches their activities," says Dr. Angie Holzer, CEO of WikiCharities. "Nonprofits need to align how they spend their funding and time with their mission statement to help the public know exactly where their efforts are being spent."  She goes on to explain that a nonprofit could state that they help the homeless with shelters, but in reality, most of their time and funding goes to job and education programs.  The LEARNING CENTER is here to help bring a nonprofits programs and activities in alignment with their public mission statement and vision statements.
