Mission

Our mission is to build families and protect vulnerable children in orphanages in Ghana.

Our vision is for every child in an orphanage to find a healthy loving family.

Short-term Goals

In the next year Kaeme will profile and reunify 50 children, while continuing to monitor and support 182 children who have already been reunified.

Long-term Goals

Kaeme will begin a pilot program to determine how to best assist young adults who have grown up in an institution and need life skills in order to leave the orphanage and be self-supporting.

Successes

This year we began a tertiary education program. We want to be sure that the children we work with and have reunited have the opportunity to be self-sufficient adults. Those that pass the WAECI standardized test have the option of attending University with Kaeme support. Others have the option of apprenticeships or teaching colleges. These are strong options because they often have a direct pipeline to employment. We are currently supporting 11 young adults in University and 2 in apprenticeships.

Funders

Our administrative costs are privately funded, meaning that every donation made to Kaeme goes directly to helping children leave orphanages and join loving families.

Challenges

Fundraising is a perpetual difficulty. Another challenge is our social media engagement. We want to increase the amounts of "likes", shares, and general commentary

Partnerships

We work closely with the Ghanaian Department of Social Welfare (DSW). They request our team to profile at certain orphanages, and their social workers accompany our team. Together we host Child Care Conferences in which the best home and family for each child is selected.
